Sarah Haase is a Collaboration & Search Engineer at Best Buy as well as an evangelist for SharePoint. With more than 15 years of knowledge management, technical writing and business process re-engineering experience. From building wikis and other online knowledge bases to supporting content management system implementations, Sarah has focused on using technology to enable efficient information storage/retrieval.
In her current role as a Collaboration Manager, Sarah relies on SharePoint to drive online collaboration and optimize business processes. To date, these efforts have netted more than $500,000 in annual cost savings.
Sarah was a one of the keynote speakers this year at the Share 2012 Conference in Atlanta. She spoke on “Turning the Tides – From Chaos to Clarity” which focused on implementing SharePoint in a organized way to key in on ROI and process automation. She also participated in the Panel of Experts that discussed governance and a presentation on User Adoption which seemed to be one of the hot topics for the event.
When asked how has Best Buy been able to control the SharePoint environment without going overboard. She stated that the first thing they did was bring all the SharePoint knowledgeable associates together and discuss the environment, issues, etc. That way they all start getting on the same page which gets everyone following the same direction and standards start to form.
